Once there was a boy named jacky
It all began from primary 1
There was this girl beside him, called Lana
Throughout the whole of pri 1 to 3
They sat together and fought frequently
They started to call each other Boy and Girl
It was not until one day..
the boy's mother told him "Jacky you are a boy and a boy should protect a girl. Not fight with her."
Jacky decided
On the day of Lana birthday
They had a excursion to the zoo
Jacky and Lana were paired up
As you see Jacky had prepared a present and was about to give it to Lana
They began walking and walking tiu they were lost.
It was getting dark
Lana started crying
Jacky said"Dear stop crying I'll give you a present k?"
Saying that he took out his present
Instantly tears stopped
"Lets come back here every 8 years to renew our pledge for our love"
Was it coincidence or what
The teachers found them jus as she opened the present.
So this was the start of their sweet relationship
When they were Sec 4
Jacky dropped out of school to work at Mac
He would still walk home with Lana everyday
Picking her up from school and goin home together and sharing a MP3 was the daily routine
One day Jacky were told a new girl was joining their team at Mac
The girl turned up to be Lana
Seeing each other Jacky was touched
"Why are you here"
"To be with you for every second of your life"
But unfotunately they lot contact when Lana migrated to the States
It wasnt 8 years later when they met
This time it was at GCO a company they both worked as
Their love for each other had not chnaged for the 8 years
Instead it was deeper than before
One night Lana was having a high fever of 42 degrees
She was sent to the hospital
She went in and out of a coma
On the 3rd week of her stay Jacky found he gone on her bed.
He went to her house
The phone at her house started calling
It was from their secondary school
Jacky immediately rushed there and saw Lana dressed in her secondary school uniform
She said
"Dear, Today is a school day rite why wouldnt the guards let me in and why arent you in your school uniform"
Jacky was shocked
This went on for two weeks.
On the 2nd week Lana wasnt at the secondary school
Jacky was worried
He went to searched around
Suddenly
"Hey dear my fever's gone"
She returned to normal
Another 2 weeks later
Jacky found her missin again
This time the call came from their Primary school
He rushed there
And found her standing outside the school
"Boy isnt today a school day why arent that big uncle let me in"
Jacky was lost
While in the car Jacky thought to himself
"Im screwed im having a menatlly retard girlfriend"
Though he said that he knew that Lana is his true love
He couldnt bear to part with her
When they reached home
Jacky found a dairy
2nd January1991 Today was the first day of school. My form teacher is Miss Pat. She is a fat fierce woman. When she asked me to sit beside this boy called Jacky, Jacky scolded me. Then we fought and Miss Pat, mommy and I talked for a while. Jacky said the school is haunted. I asked mommy to change school but she said ghost only come out at night. I hate school! I hate Jacky! I like mommy ^_^

Jacky flipped on to the next page. Although the book was old and yellowish, Lana had taken good care of it. Jacky felt the texture of the paper: Weak yet durable.

3rd January 1991 Today I saw Miss Lee. She is one of the best teachers! She teaches music. I like music. I wanna be a singer when I grow up. I like Miss Lee ^_^ Mommy took me to MacDonald’s today. They had this cute cat without mouth cute cute for the happy meal. They called it Hello Kitty. Hello, kitty ^_^ Mommy says daddy may not come back. I told her I am a strong girl. Tomorrow, there is no music lesson. I have to sit beside jacky again.

Jacky leafed the pages. For the first month, she had an entry everyday. After that, she started to write every fortnightly.

18th April 1991 Today Jacky wanted me to sing in front of the class. Miss Lee supported me too! But I was too scared. So I did not sing. I should have! I must sing in front of zillions of people if I want to be a singer.I am starting to write a tone for a song. I hum it to mommy. Mommy said that was the best tone she had ever heard. Now I just need lyrics!I pushed the Hello Kitty dolls off the bed and sat on the bed. The bed was bouncy and comfortable.

As Jacky read, he thought of Lara. She wrote diary? He never knew that. Jacky randomly leafed the pages. They were mostly typical description of her days. She had a strong interest in music. Almost half of her entries mentioned about music and her mother. Jacky went to the year 1992.

21th October 1992 Yesterday was my birthday! Yesterday was so scary. The school brought us to the zoo for excursion. I was paired up with Jacky. As he tried to play catching with me, we got lost! We were at some place many trees and a small road. We walked up the road and found a tower. It rained! Then Jacky took off his uniform and let me wear it. I had two clothes then.Jacky gave me a cute cute as a present. I call the cute cute Kim. When the rain stopped, the rainbow came. I like Jie Lun ^_^ He is so man and macho and brave. I like mommy, then Jie Lun! ^_^ And just ten minutes ago, I completed the lyrics for my song! It is called “You Are Here”, and it is inspired by Jacky's words. Heeeeeeee Heeeeeeee Heeeeeeee!


From 1992 to 1996, she talked more about her life, her music and her studies. Jacky tried to speed-read the words but it did not interest me. The entries paused at 1996. The next entry was 2002. 2002? That was a eight years break. She used a blue pen to write her new entries. The handwriting was neater and smaller.

15th September 2002 Today I saw Jie Lun again. I had asked around and realized he worked in GCO. He always takes bus 99 to work at 8am. He will be earlier on Wednesday, somewhere around 7:45am.25th September 2006 Today I know of his lunch hour. It is from 12pm to 1pm. But he usually goes back at 12:45pm. I bought a few office attires at a Robinson Sales.27th

September 2002 Today I dyed my hair. Sheryl said I looked better in highlighted brown and so I went ahead with it. I also went for a job interview. They accepted me but I rejected them because the basic is too low: Just $800 per month.

10th October 2002 Today I waited for Jacky at the bus stop but he was not there. Then I saw him, at 8:25 am, flagging a cab. He must be late.

18th October 2002 Today, my plan finally materialized. I waited at the bus stop. When he queued up behind me, I told him I had no coins. He gave me a coin! But then his card had no value and so he went off. When I thought that was it, I saw him at the coffeeshop where he usually had his lunch. I approached him but went off soon. He was smoking. I don’t like to see him smoke. It pains me. Finally, I spotted him at the lift lobby. I ran forward, trying to take the same lift as him but failed. I went back and he recognized me! Finally. We had a long conversation. He asked me where I worked and I lied to him, giving him mommy’s office address. Good start! ^_^

19th October 2002 Today, I took the bus to his workplace. While he was working, I went to Jurong East Regional Library to read a novel. It was a book by Low Kay Hwa, titled I Believe You. It is one of the most touching books I have ever read in my life! The male character is so romantic and I was crying softly in the library.I had lunch with Jacky. I asked if he was free tomorrow as it is my birthday. He said “No”. So sad.

20th October 2006 Today I held Jacky's hand in the morning and Jacky kissed me at night. Happily ever after!!! ^_^
